Hiking Spain's Costa Brava with Macs Adventure
This is a longer one, but there's nothing I will recommend more than a week-long walking trip along the coast of Spain.
In September, I went on the coolest hiking trip on the coast of Spain with a friend. Just an hour bus ride from Barcelona we started in a little Costa Brava village called Begur, where there is a ton of Cuban influence in the architecture and even a couple Cuban restaurants, which of course my half-Cuban/Spanish self had to try. Over the course of a week (including our time in Barcelona before and after) we walked around 50+ miles—a baby pilgrimage, but I would do it again and again. Maybe next year it’ll be 100 miles if I can work my way up to it.
Thanks to a company called Macs Adventure who hosted us on this escapade, we didn't have to worry about backpacking or toting our suitcases around. Between Sunday and Friday (the duration of our walk), we would check out and drop off our luggages at the front desk of each hotel in the AM and Macs would pick up our stuff and transport it to the next hotel/destination so that it would all be there upon our arrival in the evening.
