Recently spent a fun weekend in New York with friends, but one of my favorite parts (because I don’t get to do this as often) was heading Upstate for the day to check out a few different towns. I would highly recommend booking a room for a night or two—even though we didn’t this time around. Luckily, my friend has a car so we were able to get from Point A to B to C really easily… without having to do the whole car rental or ride share thing.
The drive from Brooklyn to Beacon, NY is about an hour and a half. Our first stop was Kitchen & Coffee, a 100% gluten-free and vegetarian cafe and bakery. Highly recommend if you’ve got a sensitive belly like me. The avocado toast was incredible and so was the turmeric latte. After breakfast, go for a little walk in the area to check out local shops and wine bars. Dia Beacon is a fun option if you’re looking to have an artsy day—just get your tickets ahead of time. Check in at The Roundhouse if you plan to stick around a night or two.
