The Best Atlanta Bars to Cry At
If you haven't ever cried in a bar, maybe you're the weird one.
We started the year off strong, then went into a quick decline, but here’s hoping the fires end, our farmworkers and friends don’t get deported, and we all make it through 2025 happy, healthy, hot, and always putting humanity first.
Lots of emotions this first month of the year, and speaking of emotions, one of the most fun and well-received stories I’ve worked on in a long time covers a topic most of us can relate to: crying in bars. Whether it’s over a breakup, a promotion, a new baby, the loss of a loved one, politics, religion, or simply too much to drink, we’ve all had that moment. And sometimes, a good cry at the bar just hits different.
If you’re in Atlanta and need a spot that’ll welcome your tears with open arms (and maybe even a tissue), some of my favorite bars have you covered. Check out the full list at Eater: Atlanta’s Best Bars to Cry At.
Should I start compiling lists of bars to cry at in other cities? I most definitely have some coast-to-coast faves. And, IDK, I kind of feel like it’ll come in handy for a while.
