Where to Eat, Drink, Stay & Play in Mexico City
There are SoOoOoOo many things! Where do I even start?
Mexico City is super special to me. My first ever Mexico trip was Mexico City. Not Cancun. Not Cabo. Not Puerto Vallarta. Not Tulum. MEXICO CITY. Thanks to my grad school bestie who is from there and went back to live there after our years in Savannah. I’m so nostalgic for that first trip in 2014. We saw Cut Copy and Arcade Fire at a music festival called Vive Latino. I was introduced to some of the cutest shops like Vintage Hoe and Happening, and remember having an amazing drink (pineapple and tequila something…) with breakfast and pastries at L’encanto de Lola.
A lot has changed in CDMX over the past decade (like the prices), but one thing remains the same: It’s truly a beautiful city with some of the highest quality food in the world. Without further ado, please see my picks for food, drinks, museums, bars and more below (along with a couple bonus lists at the bottom).
Side note: A lot of people sent me a lot of the same recs (Rosetta, Contramar, Maximo Bistrot, Pujol) when I started posting on Instagram that I was in CDMX. I hope you’ll appreciate that a few of those made it to this list, but many are different. <3
