5 Things I Loved About Rome

I personally think we ate better in Florence, Capri, and Naples, but Rome has its own charm and it's all about an energy and feeling the city emits.

Writing a destination guide to Rome for IHG this week and figured I could not put off my own Rome newsletter much longer. I was there in September of last year (6 months already??? it’s scary how time flies) and it was a quick, whirlwind stay after Florence before heading back to Spain.

Rome felt a bit daunting to me prior to arriving. Italy, in general, isn’t a country I’ve explored before and part of it is just the sheer magnitude of how many different choices you can make. Should I go to this city or that one? Do I want to do wine country or be by the ocean? How many villages can I squeeze into x amount of days and what does that mean in terms of train rides and transportation time? It’s a lot. So my best friend and I did a day and a half in Rome and we made it work. I actually loved it. Read on for my favorite hotels, places to eat and drink, and activities on a zippy trip to Rome.
